Hamtramck Festival Ends With A Bang

Shots Fired Into Large Crowd At End Of Labor Day Event, Police Say

POSTED: Monday, September 6, 2004

Police in Hamtramck are looking for a gunman who shot into a crowd at the Hamtramck Festival Monday.

The incident started when police tried to move about 200 people along after the festival was over, Local 4 reported.

Dennis Frederick of the Hamtramck Police said the crowd became loud and boisterous, and that's when shots were fired.

No one was injured, but police believe anyone that dangerous needs to be tracked down and brought to justice, Local 4 reported.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
