Bloomfield Doctor To Remove Obscene Tattoo
Doctor To Perform Surgery For Free
Roche is a plastic surgeon who specializes in tattoo removal, Local 4 reported."We can actually eliminate these problems and reverse what's happened to this young man and put his life back where it was," Roche said.Romanowski (pictured, left) walked into a police station on March 25 to file a complaint against his attackers. He told officers he had been held down by a man and another teen at a Norwich, N.Y., residence while they forcibly tattooed the vulgarity.Kenneth D. Peer, 23, and Travis D. Foster, 17, were charged with assault and unlawful imprisonment.During a 90-minute hearing last week, Romanowski described how Peer and Foster physically restrained him in a chair as they used a tattoo gun to mark his forehead with a four-word phrase and an obscene image. Romanowski told police Foster, a friend since childhood, was mad because he thought Romanowski was trying to steal his girlfriend.Defense attorneys requested that the charges be dropped, arguing that Romanowski consented to the tattooing.Romanowski could not be reached for comment by Local 4, but Roche talked with the teen after a Detroit radio station referred him to the plastic surgeon.Roche will pay for Romanowski's surgery, which typically costs thousands of dollars, the station reported. The doctor said he's never removed a tattoo from a forehead, but said the procedure should be uncomplicated."The face seems to be one of the easiest areas because of the amount of blood flow, (and) homemade tattoos typically are easier," Roche said.Athan Chocalakis, who has had two tattoos removed by Roche, said the surgery can be painful."It's kind of like repetitive bee stings after a while and there's a little burning sensation," Chocalakis said. "The first time was definitely the worst time."Roche told Local 4 that it may take up to one year to completely restore Romanowski's forehead back to normal.
