AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Two doctors who were in the stands saved a man's life at the Pistons game Tuesday night.
A man collapsed at The Palace of Auburn Hills during the
NBA Finals game against the San Antonio Spurs, Local 4 reported. The man's heart stopped beating and he was not breathing, according to the station's reports.
Two doctors who attended the game administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the man, and he started to breathe on his own, the station reported.
"You never know when you are going to use it, and it worked," said pediatrician Dr. Todd Marcus about performing CPR. "We saved his life."
Marcus said he couldn't believe the man started breathing after he gave him about five or six breaths of air.
"He just coughed and started breathing. No time for emotion. He did it on his own," said Marcus.
Marcus said he felt a strong pulse on the man. "It was unbelievable."
The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance. His exact condition is not known.
Although he doesn't know the victim's name, Marcus said he hopes to meet him someday.
