Warren police ordered the children to clean the mess. Parents, however, are upset the personal information was placed in the trash bin and not destroyed.Stacey Futris, whose younger brother attends the school, said the ID cards contained the students' names, date of birth and home addresses and were "scattered" in the schoolyard."Anybody could pick it up," said Futris.Parent Elyse Dinkelman said she witnessed the neighborhood kids taking the items out of the trash bin. She described it as a "free for all."Dinkelman added that the Dumpster was near a playground, and that "kids are kids.""What do we expect?" asked Dinkelman about the kids' behavior.Dinkelman said the school is responsible for putting the personal information in the Dumpster. She added that personal information of her son, who graduated from the school in 2000, was also discarded. The elementary school was closed for the year by the Van Dyke Public School District, Local 4 reported. Officials hope to reopen the building as an alternative school next year, the station reported.School officials said the mess will be cleaned by Tuesday.
