Woman Says Car Is Good Luck Charm For Detroit Sports Teams
The 1225th CSB, from Detroit, a battalion that's part of the Michigan National Guard and is stationed in Iraq, sent a photo to Local 4 of its members posing around a Pistons banner.Some children in Eastpointe and their mothers also woke early this morning to put together a display of their pride. Donna Bigelow's car was covered with sayings such as, "Pistons Fever," "Sweet Repeat," and "Rip," the nickname of Pistons guard Richard Hamilton.
"When the Red Wings played for the playoffs, I painted my car and they won the Stanley Cup," said Bigelow. "So, I figure if I paint my car, the Detroit Pistons will win the championship."Bigelow said she plans to go for a cruise on Gratiot Avenue in her victory mobile if the Pistons defeat San Antonio in Game 7.The Pistons, who trailed 3-2 in the series heading back to San Antonio for Games 6 and 7, are trying to become the first team in NBA history to win Games 6 and 7 on the road in the championship round.
