Police said she was in front of a home in the 3200 block of Gladstone Street when a woman approached her, struck her in the head twice and stole her mail bag.

The woman fled in a dark gray Buick Rendezvous driven by a black man with curly hair and slight facial hair, according to police.

The woman was described as black, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 280 pounds and wearing a gray bandana on her head, blue jean shorts and a white T-shirt.

A reward of $5,000 is being offered by the U.S. Postal Service for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the culprits.

Anyone with information is asked to call (313) 226-8184.
