Port Huron Baby Suffers Critical Injuries

Father Says Child Injured In Fall

POSTED: Thursday, July 14, 2005
UPDATED: 11:53 am EDT July 14, 2005

A 1-month-old child was on life support at Children's Hospital after being injured in her home on Tuesday, Local 4 reported.

Baby Miranda (pictured, left) was with her father in her home in the 700 block of Chestnut in Port Huron when she was injured, the station reported.

Her father told police that Miranda fell.

Doctors are performing brain scans on the child to determine if she was a victim of shaken baby syndrome, the station reported.

Police have questioned Miranda's father and mother, but are treating the case as an accident until doctors complete tests on the child.

The hospital said Miranda was still in critical condition on Thursday.

The family has said that if the child dies from her injuries, they will donate her organs, the station reported.
