Bomb Squad Called To Scene

A pipe bomb discovered along the side of Interstate 94 Monday night sparked an investigation in Van Buren Township.
A passerby discovered the 5-inch-long pipe bomb on a guard rail along the I-94 service drive at Haggerty Road, Local 4 reported. Police closed the service drive and a bomb squad was called to the scene.
The bomb squad used a robot to retrieve the device, the station reported. The squad determined the pipe bomb was real.
Police are investigating who left the pipe bomb along the freeway.
