DETROIT – Police are investigating after a man was shot outside a pharmacy Tuesday morning in Midtown.
The shooting happened at about 6:20 a.m. on Woodward Avenue at Peterboro Street.

Police said a 51-year-old man was standing outside his vehicle parked in a pharmacy parking lot when he was approached by a man who asked for a cigarette. When he said he didn’t smoke, the man pulled out and gun and demanded money. The victim said he didn’t have any and he was shot.
It was previously reported to Local 4 that the man had died. His condition is unknown.
The shooter fled on foot, according to police.
