Pet Ordinance Limits Cats In Homes
Humane Society Has Concerns About Imposing Restrictions
POSTED: Thursday, January 5, 2006
Pet owners in Bloomfield Township are facing new restrictions.
A new city ordinance limits homes to two cats and they must have rabies shots.
Other communities are considering limits on dogs and cats as well as a complete ban on some exotic pets.
The Michigan Humane Society said the laws may be well-intended, but could restrict responsible people from giving homes to abandoned pets.
Auburn Hills is considering amending its city code to impose pet limits, too.
