6-month-old dies in crash on Detroit's west side, 3 other children injured

DETROIT – A 6-month-old boy has died after a crash on Detroit's west side, police said.

The crash occurred on Archdale and Puritan streets Thursday night.

Three other children were ejected from the same vehicle the infant was in. They are said to be 12, 2, and 4 years old.

The children's mother and grandmother were also in the vehicle. All victims are listed in temporary serious condition, with the exception of the 6-month-old, who did not survive his injuries.

Police said the infant was properly restrained in a car seat and was ejected.

Authorities said a Town and Country was traveling westbound on Puritan and a silver Grand Prix was traveling southbound on Archdale when they collided.

The Town and Country struck the Grand Prix, causing the van to flip over and roll.
