Luckily, the callers were able to get the 6-year-old to pull over in a turn-around as he attempted to head northbound on M-24. The passerby then got the keys out of the ignition and waited for police to arrive on scene.

According to Sgt. Engster of Lapeer County Sheriff's office, the officer arrived on scene to find all three vehicles stopped in the turn-around and the 6-year-old told the officer this was the first time driving a car and nobody ever taught him how.

The 6-year-old boy told police he took the car keys off the kitchen counter and did not notify anyone he was leaving. He told police he went out to get Chinese food and on the way hit a street sign at Park and Pine Street.

The 6-year-old was apparently on his way to the dealership to get the car fixed when he was stopped by the two drivers.

The incident is currently under investigation by police and thankfully no one was injured.
