76-year-old woman hit, killed on M-14 in Washtenaw County

Victim is Southfield resident Natalie Tate

SALEM TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police say a 76-year-old woman was killed Wednesday night when she was hit by a car while crossing M-14 in Salem Township.

Police said Natalie Tate's car broke down in the westbound lanes near Napier Road. She crossed the freeway to get help and was crossing her way back to her car when she hit.

Police said the car that hit the Southfield woman stayed on the scene.
