DETROIT – Detroit police are searching for a woman with dementia and Alzheimer's disease who may be en route to North Carolina.

Maybell Hasty, 79, was last seen leaving her home in the 5500 block of Eastlawn Street at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Hasty has dementia and Alzheimer's disease, and that this is her first time reported missing.

Hasty left in a 2011 burgundy Kia Sorento with a North Carolina license plate reading CMV2686, according to police.

Hasty is described as 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds with a light complexion, a blond wig and possibly wearing a green fleece jacket.
