The case involving an aunt who allegedly injected heroin into the arm of her 12-year-old nephew has taken a turn, as the woman's mother is now facing charges.
Jan Catton, 47, of Warren, is the mother of the Jacqueline Vuich, 25, who is accused of injecting heroin into the arm of her nephew as he was eating spaghetti in the basement of their Warren home on Jan. 25, according to police.
Catton, who turned herself in to police, was arraigned Friday and is facing seven counts of child abuse, one count of running a drug house and keeping a house of prostitution, according to police.
Prosecutors said Catton exposed the children to a dangerous environment, where the kids were told to dispose of dirty needles in the sewer, and to go upstairs so their aunts could make money prostituting.
Catton is being held on a $300,000 bond, and if charged could be sentenced to five years in jail.
