80-year-old Korean War vet targeted in home invasion

DETROIT – An 80-year-old Korean war vet got the surprise of his life when he woke up and found a man inside his bedroom. Now investigators are trying to figure out if that burglar had been in the home before.

James Henderson is 80, a grandfather, a war vet and now, for the first time, a crime victim.

Early one morning he woke up to find an intruder in his west side apartment. The man was making his way through bedroom window and Henderson said he knew what he was after.

The thief didn't hurt Henderson but he snatched roughly $30 in cash in a jar on his dresser.

Investigators said the thief was likely in that apartment recently, possibly working as an aide to nurse Henderson back to health.
