A Taylor mother is accused of shooting and killing her 23-year-old daughter this weekend.
Sharon Radtke told officers that her fear of homelessness is what drove her to shoot her daughter, Lisa Radtke (pictured), according to Taylor police.
Officers said the daughter, a senior at Eastern Michigan University, was home for the weekend when her mother shot her in the head while she was sleeping. Radtke called 911, and police discovered the daughter's body and a gun where Radtke said they would be, Local 4 reported.
Neighbors said Sharon Radtke had been depressed over financial problems.
Radtke told authorities that she had a gun in the house for protection against a former husband, the station reported.
Lisa Radtke was set to graduate from EMU at the end of the month.
