Ford: Evacuation Was Precautionary
Three Employees Treated For Chemical Burns
POSTED: Thursday, April 27, 2006
Employees at the Ford Scientific Research lab were evacuated Thursday afternoon after what officials believed was an explosion.
The incident was actually the result of an employee dropping a glass jar of ethanol, which caused chemical burns to that employee, as well as two others who were exposed to the vapors, Local 4 reported.
The three employees were taken to a nearby hospital where they are being treated for chemical burns.
The evacuation was a precaution to all employees in the building.
