HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Local 4 has obtained a 911 call and the police report for the shooting incident involving United Auto Workers Vice President General Holiefield and his wife in their Harrison Township home.
According to the report, the 60-year-old Holiefield was cleaning a handgun on Dec. 30 when one shot fired, striking 50-year-old Monica Morgan-Holiefield in the abdomen. She is recovering.

Holiefield told Macomb County deputies he and friends had just returned from a shooting range trip, and dinner, and were cleaning their guns at his home.
He had been sitting at the kitchen table, cleaning his Desert Eagle .45 caliber pistol, when he went to pull back the slide and the gun fired.
Holiefield is quoted in the report as saying he doesn't know what happened. "Maybe I touched the trigger," he said.
The report also stated Holiefield complied with questioning from deputies and became "emotional and crying" when his wife was transported to a hospital.
Deputies said they found a total of eight weapons in the kitchen, three of which had rounds in them.
A witness, whose statement is recorded in the report, said she "does not have any reason to believe that this was an intentional act by General and believes this was a terrible freak accident."
A Jan. 22 arraignment is scheduled in Clinton Township.
Holiefield is retiring this year from the UAW.
