Mouse In Burrito A Hoax
Man Faces Charges
POSTED: Monday, May 22, 2006
A man who put a dead mouse in a burrito with hopes of extorting money from a fast food restaurant is scheduled for sentencing next week.
Ryan Goff, 20, of Traverse City, pleaded guilty earlier this month to a felony count of attempted false pretenses $1 and $20,000.
A Grand Traverse County circuit judge said Goff will remain in jail on a $100,000 bond pending his June 2 sentencing hearing.
Apparently Goff went to Taco Bell and reported finding a mouse in his burrito to the local health department.
However, police say it turned out to be a hoax.
Goff's girlfriend told police he actually purchased frozen mice from a pet store and slipped one of them into his burrito.
