Local 4 Hometown Heroes: Send Us Your Hero

Send Us Your Pictures

Local 4 wants to honor our hometown heroes serving in the U.S armed services. That's why we are building our wall of heroes.

If you have family members or friends in the U.S. military or reserves:

  • You can send us a picture and information to Local 4's Hometown Heroes at 550 W. Lafayette Blvd., Detroit, MI 48226.

  • Or email us a printable picture (JPEG format attachment is preferred).

We'll share these stories with our viewers and add the photo to our wall of heroes as a growing tribute to the men and women who are serving our country.

Please include the following:

  • Name
  • Age
  • High school attended
  • Branch of service
  • Any message you'd like to tell viewers about the hero.

Note: We are unable to provide family and friends with specific air dates of when the photos will appear because of the overwhelming response we have had to our Hometown Heroes.

We cannot, because of station policy, provide videotapes of our newscast.

However, you can contact a privately owned company who does provide this service for a fee. (We do not receive any residuals from this private service.)

Request a tape by calling: (800) 550-8433.

You will need to provide information on date and which program (5 p.m., 6 p.m., etc.) the photo appeared on.

Although we have had requests, we have made the decision to not post photos on our Web site because of a possible security risk. While we believe the World Wide Web to be a companion and complement to our newscast, photos of our military in a "fixed" position may pose a risk. We apologize for this inconvenience.

We hope to one day have the wall available for public viewing, however. Watch for the announcement on our newscast and on this Web page.

A special thank you to all of our Heroes!
