New Survey: Having Car Costs More In Detroit

It costs more to own a car in Detroit than any other city in America.

A new survey found Detroit has the highest insurance premiums in the country, an estimated $5,000 a year.

Fuel and maintenance costs also pile up in a city with minimal mass transit, analysts said.

The avergae Detroiter pays more than $12,000 a year on one car.

Philadelphia comes in second with $11,000 a year.

Los Angeles is third at $10,604 a year.
