Alligator, pit bulls, marijuana found in Waterford Township home

28-year-old homeowner cited; Animals removed from home

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Waterford Township police said a 28-year-old resident has been cited for having an alligator, pit bulls and marijuana in his home.

Police said the animals and drugs were found Wednesday by officers responding to a complaint about the house in the area of West End and Boston avenues.

The 2 ½-foot alligator was found in a wooden crate in the basement.

All of the animals and drugs were removed from the home.

The homeowner was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of pit bulls and possession of prohibited, exotic, rare or dangerous animals.

Animal Control removed the animals.
