There were long lines and a heap of headaches Tuesday evening at Detroit Metro Airport as American Airlines customers scrambled to make it to their destinations.
Summer Valves was on the first flight grounded Tuesday afternoon.
"We got OK'd to fly and then they brought us back," she said.
The Will family was desperate to make it to Sacramento for a funeral Wednesday morning.
"We need to get to Sacramento for my sister's funeral tomorrow," said a family member. "There is four of us who are meeting my brother in Dallas-Forth Worth. He's coming from Florida and we don't know what's going on."
American Airlines customers are being told all flights have been canceled until further notice. Meanwhile, American is trying to fix a computer glitch as quickly as possible.
Officials say the computer system that controls reservations is down. All American Airlines flights have been grounded. No one can make reservations, leaving customers disappointed and, in some cases, stranded.
