Clinton Township police said they have arrested a man in connection with the robbery of an 80-year-old woman at the Heritage Estates senior living condominiums.
Police said an intruder got into the victim's condo the evening of Sept. 13 through an unlocked patio door. He put a towel over the woman's head and forced her to open a safe where she kept her jewelry, police said.
The intruder took the jewelry, a laptop and police also said the victim told officers she was sexually assaulted before he left.
On Thursday, police said they had arrested a 30-year-old Sterling Heights man on charges on receiving and concealing stolen property because he had the victim's jewelry. He has not been charged with her rape. He is expected to be arraigned Friday.
