ORCHARD LAKE, Mich. -

An exhibition of artwork made at the Nazi's Auschwitz labor camp is opening in Michigan before going on a national tour.

The "Forbidden Art" exhibit opens to the public Friday at the Orchard Lake Schools. The showing is 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The art first went on display at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Poland. About 3 million mostly Jewish people died at the labor and extermination camps in German-occupied Poland during World War II.

Organizers say the show includes 20 photographs and a large wooden display designed to represent the barracks at Auschwitz.

The exhibit is on display at the school district's Polish Mission.
