A brush fire closed the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 23 Friday night between 8 Mile and 6 Mile roads in Washtenaw County.
Drivers were urged to avoid the route and area in Northfield Township.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office said the fire was under control and no evacuations have been made. The highway lanes were expected to be closed for about an hour.
There have been no injuries.
The cause of the fire in was not clear.
