A cab driver was shot to death early Tuesday morning on Detroit's east side.
Detroit police say two men tried to rob 47-year-old Jawan McQueen, of Roseville, as he was parked at a Mobil gas station on Connor Street and Harper Avenue.
Gunfire erupted during the struggle and McQueen was killed.
“Usually when I go to sleep at night, I just go straight to sleep. But, somehow or another, I kept tossing and turning. For why? I didn’t know,” said McQueen’s father, David Thomas. “My other son called me and that’s when I got the news.”
McQueen's mother, Dolores Miller, said she's angry and hurt.
"I miss my son," she said.
McQueen was married and a father.
Police said one of the other men appears to have been shot because a trail of blood was left behind.
No arrests have been made.
Tuesday's shooting was the second in recent weeks that targeted a cab driver.
