Residents of the Cambridge South Healthcare Center on 13 Mile Road in Beverly Hills had to evacuate after a fire was discovered in the buildings kitchen.
Nearly 100 patients, some with severe medical conditions, needed to be moved because the building was unable to serve them properly.
Dozens of ambulances filled the parking lot, loading one patient at time before transferring them to other buildings owned by the company. Though everything went smoothly, the effort to move all the patients took planning.
Fortunately, the flames were small and never left the kitchen. No one was injured during the incident.
Being a state licensed facility, the building will not be reopened until someone from the state gives the all clear.
