The coyote had the dog, named Duncan, by the scruff of the neck and was attempting to drag it into a nearby wooded area.

The homeowner ran toward the coyote, screaming until it released the dog.

The coyote then ran off, leaving the dog with several puncture wounds on his neck. The dog was taken to a local animal hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
