Three people have been killed in a two-car crash on U.S. 127 north of Lansing.

Police say a pickup truck was traveling north on the freeway when it crossed the median about 3 p.m.

Tuesday and slammed into a van heading southbound on U.S. 127 in DeWitt Township.

Two of the victims were in the pickup truck. The third was in the van. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch alongside the freeway.

The crash is under investigation and the freeway's southbound lanes were closed.
