SAGINAW, Mich. -

Community meetings are planned in Michigan about the fatal shooting by police of a mentally ill man in a parking lot.

The Saginaw News reports the Rev. Jesse Jackson plans to participate in a town hall meeting Friday evening in Saginaw about the July 1 death of 49-year-old Milton Hall.

And on Sept. 17, a community forum is planned. The group Concerned Citizens of Saginaw says attendees are expected to include Michigan Congressman John Conyers, the House Judiciary Committee's ranking Democrat. Witnesses to the shooting also are among those expected to talk.

A cellphone video aired by CNN shows Hall collapsing in a hail of gunfire. It also shows police ordering him to drop a knife.

Little information has been released by authorities, including how many times Hall was shot.
