Passenger ship Yorktown makes first of six stops scheduled in Detroit for the summer

DETROIT – A cruise ship made it's first of six stops scheduled throughout the summer in Detroit Saturday. The ship docked at Port Detroit on the Detroit River.

Yorktown, the passenger ship, was built in 1988 for coastal cruising. In 2009, the ship was renovated and it now sails the Great Lakes.

People from all over the United States take the cruise around the Great Lakes.

The Yorktown will disembark at 7 p.m. Saturday and tour the Great Lakes, making a stop in Chicago, before coming back to Detroit.
