Dearborn man charged in deadly Jackson County shooting

DETROIT – A Dearborn man has been charged with open murder for a shooting Saturday that killed one person.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says 33-year-old Michael Patrick-Murphy Hamilton was at his father's home in Norvell Township on Saturday when he opened fire on brothers Richard and Robert Marcyan.

Robert Marcyan was killed, his brother escaped unharmed.

The Sheriff's Office said Hamilton then lead police on a chase in a stolen car before being arrested.

He is also charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of firearm used in the commission of a felony and two counts of motor vehicle theft.

He is being held without bond.
