DETROIT – The Detroit City Council on Thursday voted on a map of districts for the future election of members.

The council voted to adopt a draft district plan. Under the new City Charter, seven council members will be elected from districts and two will be elected at large.
Citizens have 30 days to comment on the decision before it goes into effect.
