Detroit Police Officers Association to rally outside Comerica Park

Rally is against working conditions for officers

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Officers Association has planned a rally against the City of Detroit, concerning working conditions for Detroit officers.

The rally will take place outside of Comerica Park Saturday afternoon, which is the same day as game one of the American League Division Series between the Tigers and Oakland Athletics.

The Detroit Police Officers Association plans to tell the public that they enter the City of Detroit at their own risk.  A shuttle service is expected to leave from the Detroit Police Officers Association on E. Jefferson after 4 p.m.

Twelve-hour shifts and a 10 percent pay cut were imposed on police as part of the city's efforts to balance its budget.
