Detroit Public Schools open enrollment period starts; parents can change school assignments
Open enrollment begins Wednesday in the Detroit Public Schools.
The district says the open enrollment period runs through May 10 and parents also have the opportunity to change school assignments based on where they live.
Enrollment information and a school selection sheet are being sent to all district parents. Parents are expected to fill out one school selection sheet for each child and will be allowed to select first-, second- and third-choice schools.
District transportation will only be offered to children who select their neighborhood school.
Nearly every school will offer tours, curriculum demonstrations and the chance to speak with staff on April 27 during DPS Open Doors Day.
