Detroit Schools to showcase real estate for sale
Twenty Detroit school buildings and sites will be showcased Wednesday during a daylong real estate purchasing conference for investors, developers and builders.
The public school district says the "Old Schools, New Uses" conference will provide specific details on the properties and an overview on how to purchase them.
The program is designed to teach attendees how to re-use and redevelop historic buildings, work with Detroit Public Schools to acquire permits and approvals, and get information on tax credits.
Detroit Public Schools emergency manager Roy Roberts and City Council President Charles Pugh will speak at the event, which begins at 8 a.m. at Sacred Heart Seminary.
