A Detroit fire chief was injured in a car crash while responding to a fire scene Sunday morning.
The fire chief was heading to a scene at Sussex and Schoolcraft where a vehicle was on fire, spreading to a home. The chief was driving south on Outer Drive when he was struck by a vehicle heading east on Schoolcraft, according to an arson investigator. The driver of other vehicle had a green light, but did not stop for the fire chief who had his emergency lights activated.
The fire chief was transported to Sinai-Grace Hospital. No word yet on his injuries or what happened to the woman who was driving the other vehicle.
