A Detroit firefighter is hospitalized after falling through the floor of a home while battling a blaze early Friday morning on the west side.

The fire broke out just before 3 a.m. in the 9200 block of Rutherford Street.

The firefighter wasn't seriously hurt and is expected to be OK.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

A cause has not yet been released.
