A house fire on Detroit's west side has left a man in critical condition.

The fire started Sunday morning at a home on the 19000 block of Ilene Street near Outer Drive.  Crews at the scene told Local 4 the elderly victim was conscious when he was transported to a hospital.

The fire appears to have started in a bedroom in the back of the home, according to fire crews.
