Avalon International Breads is cooking up a big expansion with plans to build a 50,000 square-foot facility in 2013.
The new facility, Avalon City Ovens, will be on East Forrest and double the company’s workforce to 100 employees.
The building is part of a multi-million dollar economic growth project and will be used for its organic food production.
It’s main store, on West Willis will also relocate to Canfield next spring.
Avalon International Breads opened in Detroit in 1997.
