DETROIT -

The Detroit area cannot shake the cold Wednesday morning.

A Frost advisory for regions north and west of the Motor City and a Freeze Warning for Sanilac County will be in effect until 8 a.m. as morning lows dive into the 30s near or below freezing.

The afternoon will be sunny and milder with highs in the 60s thanks to south breezes 10 to 15 miles per hour.  Fortunately, it will be dry all day for students and commuters.

Wednesday night and Thursday will have increasing clouds and an increasing chance of rain as daytime hours tick by.   The best chance of rain is Thursday night and Friday as gray skies knock daytime temperatures back into the cooler 50s.

The weekend will be drier, but chillier.  Saturday will become sunnier with highs only in the 40s.  Sunday will be bright with highs only near 50 degrees; 10 degrees cooler than average.
