Dennis Caren loves his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, but the bike was stolen from in front of his Wyandotte home this past weekend.
Caren has been disabled since an accident in 2009. He went to Iraq as an electrical contractor and was electrocuted, but revived by colleagues. Caren has several physical problems and constant pain, but his 2002 Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle has given him pleasure.
After taking out the motorcycle to begin preparing it for the summer, Caren covered and left it on the front lawn of his home on Parklane in Wyandotte, as he has in the past. Then this weekend, he found the cover was lying on the ground and the bike was gone.
Dennis Caren said he enjoys riding his Harley more than he did driving his pickup truck.
"Everywhere I go I take that motorcycle unless I have to bring a ladder with me. I go shopping with it. I go shopping with that. My wife and I take little drives down Biddle or Jefferson. We take it to the east side where we both have family. My wife and I like riding together," Caren said.
Dennis Caren hopes his bike will be returned. It had not yet been insured for theft.
