People who donated money to rehabilitate what had been billed as the "World's Largest Stove" can reclaim memorial bricks created as part of the project.
The Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority will hold the brick return May 2 at Cadillac Place in Detroit.
More than 1,200 memorial bricks are being catalogued. People who want to reclaim bricks are asked to contact the Land Bank.
The bricks were part of a 1998 fundraising drive for the 15-ton wooden replica stove. The stove was built for the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago and became a Detroit landmark at the state fairgrounds.
It burned in 2011, possibly due to a lightning strike.
Funding cuts shut down the Michigan State Fair in 2009. The site is being redeveloped for retail and other uses.
