Up to $3,500 is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the early December slayings of four people found shot to death in a Detroit home.
Sixteen-year-old 16-year-old Shawn Bender, 22-year-old Janetta Harris, 28-year-old Jason Koester and 34-year-old Dyrelle Davis were all found shot dead Dec. 4 in a home at the corner of Tacoma and Brock.
At a press conference Wednesday with Crime Stoppers, family members of each of the victims described the loss.
“This is extremely hard for me because a mother never expects to have her child taken away like that. We always believe our kids are going to be the one to bury us, not us bury them," said Shelia Davis, Dyrelle Davis' mother.
"For 16 years, God blessed me with that young man. And then, someone done took him away from me," said Bender's mother, Tamika. "I need you all to help me. I miss my baby. I need you all to help me and find whoever did this to my baby."
Shawn Bender was a sophomore at Denby High School. His mother said he liked fixing bikes, boxing and spending time with his family.
Koester's family said he was a cook at New York Deli in St. Clair Shores.
"If you could do anything to find these people, we appreciate it. It won’t bring him back, but maybe, for me, there will be some closure of why," said Lucy Koester.
The reward is $2,500. Crime Stoppers says that if the tip comes in by day's end an additional $1,000 will be added to the reward.
