The deadline to apply for federal judicial vacancies on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan has been extended to Feb. 1.
That's according to the offices of Michigan U.S. Sens. Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow.
The Judicial Advisory Committee established by the two Democratic senators will accept applications through 5 p.m. EST that day.
The committee is made up of legal professionals in Michigan. It will evaluate the applicants and provide its recommendations to Levin and Stabenow, who then will make recommendations to President Barack Obama.
