Do you ever find yourself reaching for the remote when a commercial comes on because it's overwhelmingly loud? Well, reach for the remote no more.
Starting at 12:00 a.m. Thursday, December 13, new Federal Communications Commission rules will stop television networks from blaring the loud commercials.
The rules, which were adopted a year ago on Thursday, requires commercials to have the same average volume as the programs they accompany.
