The city of Ferndale is experiencing a dramatic rise in drunk driving arrests.
This past weekend's police report reflect the increasing problem.
One woman as pulled over after she was spotted driving 58 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone.
Her blood alcohol level was 0.11 and, police say, she had a 10-year-old child in the back seat of her car when she was stopped.
Between 9:30 p.m. Friday to 6:00 a.m. Saturday, Ferndale police made five DUI arrests.
Jessica Holmes works in Ferndale was troubled when she heard about those arrests.
"I think it's a very small amount of time and a very small city so I don't know and don't understand where those people are coming from," Holmes said.
Another woman who works in Ferndale but did not want to be identified said she support police cracking down on the drunk driving.
"One day I'll have kids on the road with me in the car and I wouldn't want to get hit, so it's pretty dangerous. I'm glad they are really cracking down on it," that woman said.
So far this year, there have been 141 arrests for drunk driving in Ferndale.
Last year, there were 155 for the entire year.
