Firefighters spent Wednesday morning battling a 2-alarm fire at a wood pallet warehouse in southwest Detroit

Firefighters responded to the scene at Kemp Pallets at South Street and Green Street around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning. Flames quickly spread through the 1,000 square foot building. Employees who were inside the building when the fire broke out said they heard an explosion. Everybody inside was able to get out of the building safely and quickly.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
